CDEL Welcomes Three New Board Members!

This June, CDEL welcomed Three New Board Members to the CDEL Board of Directors. They are: Rosalyn Flores of Kirkland & Ellis LLP; Helen Lucaitis of Corboy & Demetrio; and Todd Patterson of United Airlines, Inc.

Rosalyn Flores, Kirkland & Ellis LLP

As a corporate partner and knowledge manager of Mergers & Acquisitions Private Equity Practice Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Rosalyn focuses primarily on mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, portfolio company management, financial institutions and transaction finance.  She has been at Kirkland & Ellis LLP since 2014.

Before joining Kirkland & Ellis, Rosalyn started her career in 2007 in California at Qualcomm Incorporated as a Senior Customs Specialist in the International Customs and Indirect Tax Department. While she was completing law school, she was a Judicial Extern in the U.S Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois for Hon. A. Benjamin Goldgar. She was also a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Fellow for the Center for Disability & Elder Law in 2014 after graduating law school.

 Rosalyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies: Economics and Political Science from the University of California San Diego. She also received an MBA and a JD from Northwestern University- Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern University School of Law concurrently.

Helen Lucaitis, Corboy & Demetrio

As Communications Director and now Chief Marketing Officer at Corboy & Demetrio, Helen has guided Corboy & Demetrio’s strategic marketing and media relations efforts including highlighting the firm’s high-profile cases. She has been at Corboy & Demetrio since 2014.

Before joining Corboy & Demetrio, Helen has been a legal journalist for fifteen years in many different roles and capacities. She is former COURT TV reporter as well as a Legal Analyst and Courts Reporter for FOX5 News in New York City.  In addition, before joining Corboy & Demetrio, she launched and was principal of LawyerUp Media, the legal public relations consulting boutique firm she founded. Helen has also served as publicity chair for CDEL’s Annual “Light Up the Loop” Winter Awards Benefit for many years.

Helen holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College. In addition, she received her Juris Doctor degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. Shortly after, she also received a M.S in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism from Northwestern University.

Todd Patterson, United Airlines, Inc

As Managing Counsel for the Commercial and Strategic Transactions Group at United Airlines, Inc. Todd is the primary commercial attorney that manages strategic, timely, and actionable legal counsel for several United business divisions.  He has held several roles at United in various roles as Counsel in different practice groups. He has been at United Airlines since 1999.

Before joining United Airlines, Todd was a Second Judicial Clerk for Justice Donald W. Steinmetz for the Supreme Court of the State of Wisconsin. Following that, he was a marketing and advertising attorney for Brierley & Partners in Chicago. Todd has been active in United’s pro bono partnership with CDEL for many years having volunteered at Powers of Attorney workshops.

Todd attended the University of London-Queen Mary College before receiving his B.A in Political Science and American Studies at Kenyon College in Ohio. He went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
