Chandler Meersman is a Staff Attorney at CDEL. Chandler focuses her time at CDEL on the Housing Preservation Project (HPP), in addition to supporting CDEL’s Early Resolution Program team with consumer debt and eviction matters. 

Chandler first joined CDEL in August of 2021 as a Kott Scholar during her third year of law school. After graduating from law school, she joined CDEL full time in August of 2022. In her capacity as HPP Coordinator, Chandler collaborates with community partners and pro bono attorneys to provide legal assistance to Cook County homeowners, including assisting with succession planning, title correction, certain property tax matters, foreclosure and building code violation defense. 

Chandler earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University in 2017. Between her undergraduate studies and law school, she began her professional career as a traveling leadership development consultant for Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. Through this experience, she traveled across North America for two years training collegiate women to be leaders in their communities.

Chandler went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in May of 2022 where she received certificates in both Public Interest & Social Justice and Trial Advocacy. While in law school, Chandler became a certified mediator with the Center for Conflict Resolution. She also competed on the ABA Client Counseling Team and served the Journal of Regulatory Compliance as the Symposium Editor.
