Eli Ackerman is a Staff Attorney at CDEL working with CDEL's Early Resolution Program (ERP).  ERP focuses on providing advice to individuals facing eviction or consumer debt issues. 

Eli joined CDEL in May of 2026.  Prior to joining CDEL, he worked at The Legal Aid Society of New York City, as an Entry Level Attorney in their Criminal Defense Practice. There, he represented and assisted clients in various criminal legal matters from violation to misdemeanors in appearances, trials, and arraignments. He also worked as a Law Clerk at the Cook County Public Defenders in the Traffic Division, assisting clients in various traffic matters whilst reviewing discovery and procedural issues. 

Eli earned their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Philosophy from the University of North Florida, and his Juris Doctor from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University's FLEX Part time program in 2025.
