CDEL Holds POA Workshops in Suburban Senior Living Apartments

Last week, CDEL held a POA workshop at Greencastle of Elmhurst, an Embrace Living senior living residence. Volunteers from BP and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe joined to assist ten clients with their documents.

Earlier this month, CDEL held a POA Workshop at Lawrence Manor in Matteson, IL. We were joined by seven volunteers from CDEL pro bono partner Perkins Coie LLP to assist twelve clients with drafting powers of attorney documents. These documents put our clients at ease knowing that everything is in place for when they need it most.

Thank you to Greencastle of Elmhurst and Lawrence Manor for partnering with CDEL and allowing us to meet our clients conveniently and accessibly in the communities they live, especially in the Cook County suburbs!

CDEL Celebrates Disability Pride Month!

CDEL is proud to celebrate Disability Pride Month and the 35th Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act this July! CDEL has people whose identities include disability among all of our stakeholder groups including: board members, staff, interns, volunteers, and the clients that we serve.

CDEL takes pride in working to provide quality legal service to low income seniors and people with disabilities. We are proud to serve all of our clients and provide critical legal assistance to those who need it most. Please join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month!

Earlier this month, current and former CDEL staff and interns came together for our third annual CDEL Summer Picnic at LaBagh Woods. Food, games, and fun in the sun were had by all!
