Kate Milvert is a Staff Attorney at CDEL working with CDEL’s monthly community legal clinics throughout Chicago and suburban Cook County.

Before joining CDEL, Kate worked at Equip for Equality, where she represented adults with disabilities in guardianship cases and provided assistance with setting up alternatives to guardianship. She also served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights in Chicago, investigating civil rights complaints against schools, colleges, and universities.

Kate received her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington in 2019 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 2022. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a direct support professional, providing home- and community-based services to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
