CDEL Joins Chicago-Kent College of Law's Public Service Day

CDEL was proud to participate in Chicago-Kent College of Law's annual Public Service Day for another year! CDEL senior attorney Cheryl Lipton presented to 14 students about CDEL and our guardianship program before giving them an opportunity to get hands on experience and complete phone appointments for some of CDEL's guardianship clients.

Thank you to our Summer Interns!

CDEL's interns had a great summer! Thirteen interns including two Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) fellows (sponsored by Kirkland & Ellis), a PILI intern, law students, and undergraduates worked on a variety of projects throughout the summer. We are so grateful to all our summer interns and have already started welcoming our new interns for the fall!

CDEL Client Comes Downtown to Execute Estate Planning Documents

Recently a client came to our office to finalize and execute her estate planning documents. CDEL has various convenient ways for clients to get the services they need all across Chicago and Cook County. Some clients prefer our many community clinic sites, some go to our workshops, and some, like this client, choose to come downtown to our office to complete the process. No matter how someone chooses to access our services, it always gives them peace of mind to know everything is in place.

CDEL Celebrates National Senior Citizen Day at Senior Fest!

CDEL staff and interns celebrated National Senior Citizen Day among hundreds of seniors by tabling at the annual Senior Fest hosted by the City of Chicago and the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services at Millennium Park. Those who stopped by the CDEL table learned about the ways CDEL can help low-income Chicago seniors.

It was great to be a part of such a fun celebration of our Chicago seniors!
